UNDER 7’S KENT FESTIVAL AT AYLESFORD BULLS
Sunday 22nd March 2015 Report by Tony Jones
Chilly weather put a slight dampers on the day after a glorious sunny day last week at the East Kent Festival at Canterbury, but otherwise a fabulous day of rugby enjoyed by all.
Two squads of five attended consisting of firstly Barnaby Smith, Izaak Guck, Max Rynenhart, Arthur Crumley and Tom Fraser. Secondly, Adam Sephton, Euan Rogers, Jack Lennon and Drew Thornton. There is no favouritism but trying to get a blend of whom plays well together at this difficult age when they start their rugby career.
The good news is all those taking part scored tries.
The first group won 4 of 5 games but headed their group on try difference in front of Old Colfeians.
The second group lost 4 of their 5 games, some of them really close, but the good news is they developed so well throughout the tournament they beat Westcombe Park 8 – 6 in their final game, which is no mean feat because Westcombe Park are a really strong club with a very large catchment area.
Overall, I believe that it was a fun day for the players involved, and well done, everybody performed superbly.
