Folkestone RFC Under 12s at Cranbrook 4 May 2014
Cranbrook First 2 – Folkestone 1
Some good hard tackling by both teams was unfortunately let down by very sloppy passing and tackling at times. The boys did well in defence and had to hold up the ball on their try line a couple of times. After a good link between the forwards and good passing between the backs Aurelien Austin ran in a well executed try.
Cranbrook Second 0 – Folkestone 3
After a little pep talk the boys took on Cranbrook 2nds much better support and passing and communication led to three try victory for Folkestone – Dylan Barnes, Tom Whelan and a debut try for Shayne Stickles.
Esher (visiting team) 2 – Folkestone 1
This was a very tough game. Folkestone’s handling let them down at times but still they scored with a good run of passing between the backs from Freddie Faiers. Esher found a bit of space towards the end of the game to take the win Folkestone did well to keep Esher to a 2-1 win.
This was a good visit to Cranbrook that we hope can become a regular fixture for the boys. They certainly benefited from facing organised, well discipline squads. This can only serve to improve their game.
