Folkestone were in a group with Ashford, Blackheath, Cranbrook and Sittingbourne.
Sittingbourne 0 – Folkestone 0
The first half of this game proved to be an evenly matched affair with Folkestone then going on to dominate in the second. The above score line should have read differently with Folkestone having at least 4 tries disallowed and refereeing decisions going against them.
Folkestone 4 – Ashford ‘B’ 0
Folkestone dominated for most of this game although Ashford seemed to find their game in the second half. All of the Folkestone tries were scored in the first half. Dylan Barnes was, as usual, one of the try scorers along with Aurelien Austin (2) and Ronald.
Blackheath 2 – Folkestone 0
This match was quite a tough game with some very hard tackles levelled at Folkestone. \a draw would have been a fair result as both Blackheath tries were scored in the last minute of each half.
Cranbrook 2 – Folkestone 1
Another hard fought game with Cranbrook scoring first closely followed with a try by the unstoppable Barnes. This looked like it was going to be a draw with both teams battling hard for the win but unfortunately with the last play of the game Cranbrook were able to make the hard work count.
Although the boys may be disappointed by some of the scorelines in this Festival they did not let themselves or their coaches down, they played very well as a team and they did not let their heads drop at all. As previously mentioned some of the decisions went against them today but they should learn from them and remember them in future games.
Well done Folkestone Under 10’s
