The U10's entered two mixed teams and they were called the Goblins and Gladiators.

Both teams were in different groups, both came 6th in their respective groups. The competition was tough.

When I left the event on the board the scores were that both teams had achieved 6th position in their respective groups. In all 18 matches were played over the two days. I left the event a good 1 hour to 1 and half hours after our last match.

The kids were absolutely whacked after 2 days play, and the cold weather of Sunday morning made 5 players hypothermic such that they had to go home from the cold wind and driving rain. On the Sunday we had to mix the teams even more so due to 5 players pulling out during the course of Sunday morning. Some players had to play quite a few games, and we had one and I (plus the parents) made the decision to pull him out for the rest of the day's 2 matches left in his group.

The tournament was extremely well organised, and the pitch was the best we have played on all season with exception of Saracens G4 pitch. To the U10's it was a festival (not to be taken seriously) and to play clubs we would never meet ordinarily. The mixing of the teams brought out some better play from players who normally played "B" squad.

All players played out of their skins. All the players came away feeling satisfied with a participation trophy. Just the way we U10's wanted to end a season of good rugby results.
