An impressive display of fast and free flowing rugby saw Folkestone Ladies overwhelm the Sirens scoring 13 tries without reply that gave a fillip to the senior team before their encounter with the formidable Thanet Wanderers Ladies in two weeks.

With many of the players coming from the ever growing mini and youth sections of the Club the resolve and commitment is at a high level under the watchful coaching of Elly Santer.

The spirit of the Faversham team was evident, but their inexperience showed in all aspects of the game – nevertheless they were able to muster an opposition that, at times, with effective tackling in defence that, at times, jolted the ebullient Folkestone Ladies.

Folkestone were dominant from the start with the forwards front row of Jess Langston, Nikita Bailey and Alice Collision overpowering the opposing providing quick ball from the scrums.

Chelsea Martin provided the pass that gave the opportunity to Maddy Harlow to break through the centre and open the scoring, closely followed by a fast try-scoring run on the wing by Jess Langston. Nikita Bailey stopped a threatening move with a solid tackle before scoring an individual try running through the centre field and diving across the line.

Alice Collinson continued the rout before Tia Davey ran in for her first try for the Club at senior level having been elevated from the youth team, and this was followed by her second, a flying touchdown, to mark an impressive debut. Further tries were added by Maddy Harlow and Nikita Bailey who completed her hat trick before the final whistle.

Folkestone Ladies, although a young and agile team, clearly enjoy their rugby and development is assured through the support of the Club and their sponsors, and will, hopefully, re-join the topflight of Kent Rugby and follow the team of the 2010.
