Dan is back!!!
A squad of eighteen Folkestone U13s travelled to Deal for a very hard fought game. Happily, amongst them was Dan Croker, showing a full recovery from his broken leg.
Early pressure from Folkestone resulted in a Harry Wren try within five minutes converted by Hobbsy, Deal replied with some big power play which lead to a try and conversion Charlie Stratford then responded with Hobbsy converting again. it was still early in the first half and Deal were very determined to keep in touch with a Folkestone team that can play very physical Rugby further try for Deal unconverted was the last score for Deal. Folkestone pressed their fitness advantage in the second half, running in from depth, with some nice supported play, and showed how our forwards working together can drive the ball for big territorial gains Louis Santer and Dan Croker demonstrated a 30 metre drive with at least four Deal Players hanging on but making no impression to slow them down.
with approx 10 minutes to go to the final whistle, and at 50 points to Folkestone, the referee offered to stop the game and Deal accepted, the final score Deal 12 Folkestone 50.
A very sporting gesture from one of the Deal coaches: who lent a Folkestone player his boots, so he could get a game... Thank you
