In what can only be described as a very windy day the Folkestone squad played Canterbury Bs in the Cup looking for a better result than their recent encounter on the artificial pitch at Canterbury.

Kick off was a tricky affair, Folkestone kicked off against the wind with the ball falling kindly to Canterbury giving Canterbury an early chance to attack.
The first half was littered with Folkestone missed tackles, giving Canterbury too many easy tries, the first half finished 19-0 to Canterbury and Folkestone heads bowed.

The second half started similarly, Folkestone missing crucial tackles and going further behind but slowly their heads came back up, making Canterbury work harder and harder. This never give in attitude started to pay off as the second half reached its conclusion. Good team work from the pack gave Joseph Faiers an opportunity to break through to place the ball down for 5 deserved points, followed soon after by another 5.
The game concluded with Folkestone pressing Canterbury within touching distance of the visitors’ try line. The pressure told, and from a Canterbury line out Ethan Bailey stole the ball to give the Folkestone boys a third try. Final score 15-38.

Coach Terry Holt commented after the game how impressed he was once again with the lads’ attitude and how the team worked well together in the pack, winning most scrummages.
