On a grey and miserable morning where the rain threated but held off in Dover or as we all know it, rugby weather; the squad of 18 of Folkestone Rugby club under 13’s, warrior stormed over the hill to do battle in Dover and roared like the lions they have come to be.
Folkestone kicked off, and Dover knocked it on, Folkestone forwards gathered it up and passed down the line to Persil Limbu in to the centres, Dover took him out giving away a penalty. Simon Goodden passed the ball out to the Wing to Mark Ip-Lloyd that ran most of the pitch and was tackled, Folkestone forward ruck over Danny Gilligan (Capt) picked up the ball and stormed over the try line to get our first of many tries in the first 1.30 mins, Siddhanta Gurung steps up to take the conversion and straight between the post 7-0. Dover kicked to restart, Gathered by the forwards passed out down the line to Tom Morley, where he ran over the line and another try 12-0. Folkestone carried on playing the same way with the forwards taking it to Dover and setting up good ball for the backs in the rest of the match. Final score 64-0.
It takes a team to score tries though and in the words of General Patton 'pressure makes diamonds' and today every one of the lads performed like precious gems.
