With David’s motivational sound bites - that would have put David Brent to shame - Folkestone’s U13s faced Ashford in their first match of the season.
From the kick off Ashford looked to be very strong, scoring almost instantly; soon after Stones were quickly overcome again to let through a second and then a third. Folkestone’s first chance of possession came with a scum followed by a line out, easily won by David, but possession wasn’t kept as the boys were clearly unnerved by the more physical presence of Ashford. Half time 30-0
The second half started in much the same way, with an early try. Folkestone were able to have more possession as Ashford tired, but lacking confidence, and the size of the pitch taking its toll, the boys weren’t able to capitalise.
Full time 52-0
Jason stood out amongst the Stones for his tackling, as did Aiden and David for their determination to get their bodies in the way. Improvement needed before the Cup game next week!
