The Folkestone lads travelled down the road to their neighbouring Club at Dover.
The game started with uncontested scrums due to the new recruits that Dover have gained. It was nice to see the home side picking itself up from the trouble it’s had in the past with numbers, long may it continue as it has always been a valued fixture.
The home side gave a good account of themselves giving the lads from Folkestone a good run for their money in the first half, however with tries from their skipper Johnnie Hobbs and 2 pick and go tries from their No8 Conor Raine the Folkestone lads lead at half time 15 – 0.
The Second half saw the Folkestone lads take advantage of created space and overlaps with a further 5 tries run in. 2 from Adam Butler, 1 each from Ted Bean and Harry Curtis with the final try from Tom Whelan with extra points from a conversion by James Hughes.
Final score 42 – 0, but as I said, a good all round effort from the Dover lads.
