With the 1st XV playing on the adjoining pitch it proved difficult to
watch both games whilst trying to write a comprehensive report on one
of them - but I'll try.

Folkestone were able for a change to field a strong side both up front
and in the threequarters.John Eustace was again prominent and with
Ollie Walton as his centre partner confused and dazzzled the visitors.

Chris Petley opened the scoring with a delightful sidestep to score
under the posts which Jak Cox converted. Bromley were unable to cope
with the Folkestone running lines and were constantly back peddling
allowing the home side huge territorial advantage. Jakub Kopriva scored
the next try having been put away by Kevin Murray. Then Walton combined
with Dan Woolford for him to score in the corner followed quickly by a
try from Luke Simpson. Neither try was converted. Walton then got on
the scoreboard himself followed by another by Woolford.

Eustace and Petley were making a nuisance of themselves in the middle
of the park and finally Eustace managed to cross for himself after
being involved in a variety of the other tries. I Think the half time
score was 37 - 0...

Kopriva opened the scoring in the second half when Eustace put him away
and then Eustace bagged another for himself. The home pack was dominant
and with Mark Rogers, Kevin Murray and David Baxter ruled the line
outs.

Murray then helped to send Petley over to see him convert his own try.
At this point I got totally confused by the number of playins
contributing to scores and apologise to them if they scored and I
haven't recorded it...

A delightful handling movement right across the park saw Woolford add
another five points which was converted. That was followed by a smart
move when Kopriva broke from the loose maul to send Eustace over (I
think) for his hat-trick. Cox converted and I clarified the score with
the referee though the above report might not add up to the same
number.

Editor's Note: After the match I had a brief word with Pat Smith who assured me that during the game he leapt like a salmon to catch a high ball and then drove upfield for anything between 10 and 50 metres (at this point Pat's nose had grown to 9 inches long). Pat then spun the ball out wide for somebody to score.
