Unfortunately our normal brilliant match reporter (me) was too ill to travel to Pulborough for today's match but Andy Dagger has come off the bench to do the match report and here it is:
In atrocious conditions Folkestone against a strong wind in the first half conceded a scrappy try after 20 minutes which the home team failed to convert
Folkestone forwards worked well and capitalised on Pulborough mistakes to get across the line with Jack Cox touching to level the scores just before halftime.
In a scrappy second half after a Folkestone player was sin binned for a trip and Pulborough took the lead with a try from a lineout and a rolling maul to take the lead and an excellent conversion to be 12 - 5 up.
With the Stones back up to 15 men Pulborough lost a man on a yellow card.
Folkestone got down into the Pulborough 22 and took a quick tap penalty to bring it back to 12-10 with Ben Brooks getting the touch down.
With Folkestone camped in the Pulborough half a scuffle led to a Pulborough forward seeing red and with the Folkestone forwards applying good pressure Seyhan Fell stepped up and kicked a well deserved penalty to take the lead for the first time in the game.
Folkestone's will and determination saw them through to a well deserved victory and valuable points.
The result will do a lot for the team and will set them up well for their cup game on Saturday against Cantabrigians at the New Burlington.
