Folkestone travelled to a chilly, windy game against Old Williamsonians; in what turned out to be a patchy game for both teams.
Old Williamsonians started the game, and although Folkestone gained possession; after two minutes they gave away a penalty. The Penalty was converted, giving Old Williamsonians a 3-0 lead.
Folkestone restarted the game, and in an almost repeat of the start of the game, Old Williamsonians gave a Penalty away. 7 minutes and Seyhan Fell kicks to take the score level at 3-3.
The game restarted and neither team could really get any real advantage; good attacking rugby by both sides ended up in either the ball being lost, or a Penalty being conceded.
Overall Folkestone played the better rugby; but excellent defence by Old Williamsonians saw that Folkestone were not able to take advantage.
Some excellent clearance and positional play, by using the prevailing wind; allowed Folkestone to spend a lot of time in the Old Williamsonians half.
But it was not until the 32nd minute that Folkestone were able to win their own lineout, and with a maul saw them go over for a try. Alex Price coming away with the ball; but the Seyhan Fells conversion attempt went just wide of the left hand post. Folkestone 3-8.
The game followed the same pattern of back and forth until the end of the 1st Half.

Folkestone started the 2nd half; with Folkestone starting to play some better flowing rugby; but Folkestone still could not finish off many of their plays; either losing the ball or giving away a penalty.
Both sides were well versed in defending their own try line, several times a score looked imminent but both sides tried to muscle their way over the try line when it was crying out for the ball to be shipped out to the able backs to work their magic. Alas that did not happen.

Unfortunately this was the way that the game was played out for the 2nd half; ending in a 3-8 win for Folkestone who stay at second place with a deserved bonus point for Old Williamsonians who remain bottom of the League Table.
