Folkestone 99 pts. v. Beckenham 10 pts
Folkestone delivered a dominant display of attacking rugby at the New Burlington Ground on Saturday, overwhelming visitors Beckenham with a 99–10 win.
The match began slowly for the home side, with early penalties gifting Beckenham some territory. However, once Folkestone found their rhythm, their trademark open and expansive style quickly took control of the contest.
Greg Wood opened the scoring with a converted try, setting the tone for what would become a one-sided affair. Moments later, Mason Colchester-Long capitalised on a loose ball to cross for an unconverted try, doubling the lead to 12–0.
Louis Watson then broke through the Beckenham defence to score another converted try, extending the margin to 19–0, before Harry Dean added a fourth after seizing on a handling error. Scott Stewart soon joined the scoresheet, racing down the touchline to make it 31–0.
Folkestone’s relentless pressure continued, with Ryan Furlong’s strong run setting up Rob Godden for another converted try. Tom Clarke powered through several tackles to add yet another, and shortly before the break, Woody Faires sprinted clear for a converted effort, giving Folkestone a commanding 52–0 half-time lead.
Beckenham showed spirit after the interval, forcing mistakes from the hosts and scoring an early unconverted try to get on the board. But Folkestone quickly reasserted control — Faires notched his second of the afternoon, Dean sprinted the length of the field for another, and Callum Palmeri crossed following slick inter-passing between backs and forwards.
With Beckenham’s defence tiring, Alex Price added a converted try before the visitors responded with a consolation score in the corner to make it 78–10. Folkestone, however, showed no sign of easing off. Dean completed his hat-trick, followed by tries from Tom Reina and Greg Wood — both converted — sealing a remarkable 99–10 victory.
It was a commanding performance from a Folkestone side firing on all cylinders, demonstrating pace, precision, and unrelenting teamwork throughout.
