JOS DO IT.

A pretty good week all round this week. Training on Wednesday concentrated on fitness and passing and offloads rounded off with a tag match of 7 Under 11s v 2 younger brothers, the younger brothers coming out on top due to some greedy play from the opposition, good defending and a little biased refereeing.

Sunday was a good training session again, getting lower in the tackles, retreating, tackling again, retrieving the ball, more passing.

Training was followed by matches against Ashford, helped by three of our boys, Kieran, George and Ethan who ensured that by helping Ashford out all players present got a lot of much needed matchtime that would not have been possible otherwise. Folkestone won the first match 20-0 and the second was drawn 5-5. This was an excellent display of rugby, comments from the coaches were that it was possibly the Under 11s best display of rugby yet, quote from Andy: "used the ball intelligently, supported each other, rucked well and tackled magnificently" so well done to all Under 11s.

Training with Ricky at the Academy 1830hrs on Wednesday evening.

I have no idea what will happen on Sunday yet, current plan is back to normal training at the club, I'll confirm by email.

Separate emails have been sent regarding the Bethune tour and the Rye Festival, please let me know if you are an Under 11s squad member and haven't received them.

Kitwatch - I have increased my bottle collection. Again.

Finally, Player of the week this week is Jos Marnham. Jos put in some cracking tackles on Sunday against Ashford but more importantly was picked up for handing off when attacking. Jos thought about this before continuing to play with both hands on the ball and with the hand-offs eradicated when attacking (still no hand-offs at Under 11s) so very well done Jos for continued improvement and a very good defensive display.
