As the next season approaches so does the preparation and maintenance of our four pitches begin again after they have been left to rest for a couple of months.
So, let’s say a big thank you to those stalwarts who keeping the pitches in superb condition and make them a joy to play rugby on for all levels from the 1st XV right down to the little minis and help to make our facilities the envy of our visitors.
Bill Bingham, Joe Feeney, Gary McCarthy and Iain Radford turn out voluntarily every week, in all conditions, to prepare our pitches and this involves preparation, servicing machinery and mowing, weedkilling, measuring and white lining all four pitches and the extra mini pitches for every game at every level.
And, the next time you visit the Club have a look at the Memorial Garden – always kept neat and tidy by Bill Bingham when he is not mowing the many acres of grass we have.
