MESSAGE FROM THE CHAIRMAN
8TH JUNE 2026
It is with great sadness that the club has been informed that club stalwart John Sutton passed away on the 3rd of June after complications from Mesothelioma.

John was a long standing player earning club player of the year back in 1980. He stood as club Chairman for three years along with Chairman of selectors plus various other roles around club operations.

John was always a level head who took the time to talk through any problems you might have around most subjects. He had an MA in mathematics from Oxford so money matters were a favoured direction.

I had the pleasure of both playing with John and sharing a room with him on various tours, along with working with him on various club projects.

John will be greatly missed by all around the club, and our condolences go out to his wife Ruth and daughters Emma, Sarah and Rosemary.
