Most of Folkestone Rugby Club's youngest players received their end of season awards at a packed clubhouse on Sunday morning. Approximately 120 youngsters aged between 5 and 12 gathered with parents, grand parents, brothers and sisters to receive Club Certificates, Festival Certificates and their age group awards for 'Most Improved Player', 'Coaches Award' and the 'Spirit of Rugby Award'.
Due to coach unavailability on the Sunday, the Under 9s had received their trophies the previous evening at a presentation event hosted at Kalala Restaurant in Folkestone attended by 70 players and relatives; which was probably just as well given the way numbers have increased at this event over the past few years.

The 'Ian Fell' Trophy - Barney Mackenzie (awarded to an Under 12 player who has consistently shown the true rugby ethos over their time in the mini section of the club with Teamwork; Respect; Enjoyment; Discipline and Sportsmanship.)
Before the presentations Junior Coordinator Ian Fell introduced Hannah Leather to those present, Hannah is taking over the role of Mini Coordinator. Club Chairman Andy Dagger also spoke briefly about the importance of the Mini and Youth sections of the club, bringing players through the ranks who can then play for the senior teams at the club and perhaps move on to greater honours.
