Kier Magic...

A good week for the under 11s started with a well attended session on Wednesday with Ricky at the Academy, again Kev Mackenzie shared his wisdom and the squad were very grateful for that as they went through some very good support and passing drills, showing good handling improvements throughout.

On Sunday we were bathed in glorious sunshine on a pitch that is very quickly drying out (what a season for weather!), some work on tackling and clearing out was followed by some 4v3 work which was enthusiastically undertaken by all of the squad, who all improved throughout the session. We then went on to play a match with the U12s which was refereed in exactly the right spirit by Paul. This was a tough match up for the Under 11s as the 12s are playing some lovely rugby and were clearly on top but we scored a couple of tries and some decent carrying and passing was shown, we also managed to get all squad members on the pitch playing some competitive rugby against very good opposition and all will benefit from that, so thanks to Paul and the Under 12s and very well played all.

Nothing for kitwatch this week.

On Wednesday it is back at the Academy with Ricky 1830hrs to 2000hrs.

I will email separately about next Sunday.

Finally and last but not least, player of the week. There were some excellent performances throughout the squad this week, Cameron Easby and George James were noted for some excellent displays but the stand out performance came from Kieran Dorrell, who put in the best display of rucking seen within the U11s to date, extremely determined and very good to see, so well done Kieran!
