Sellindge Sports and Social Club

As you will probably be aware, Sellindge Sports and Social Club is a registered charity providing sports, social and recreational activities to the local community and surrounding areas. The club is run purely by volunteers who are heavily involved in generating income through donations and fundraising allowing the club to offer a range of youth and adult sporting activiti

The club is currently involved in the organisation of a Sponsored Swim initiative which it hopes will help raise money for a set of portable goal posts for the resident youth football team, Smeeth and Brabourne Junior Football club. The Sponsored Swim will be held at Folkestone Sports Club on Sunday 29th April from 2-4 pm and further details are available on the club website www.sellindgeclub.co.uk.

At present, they are in dire need of more swimmers to join our campaign to make it a success. They have written to ask whether Folkestone Rugby Club would agree either to gather together a team of swimmers to join them or to sponsor the SABFC Youth Football team in their efforts to swim 2012 lengths to raise the £2500 cash required for a new set of footie posts.

This event isn't about attracting just strong swimmers but rather encouraging young people to swim a few lengths and join us in raising money for a worthwhile cause. By way of an example, a young lad who's just turned four will be joining in with the support of his Dad and of course some trusty armbands.
