and unlike his compatriots he didn't tamper with any sheep (that we know of)

Earlier today I received a message from Steve Hughes who gave me the sad news that one of the club's most popular players has to retire so yesterday we saw Daz Short knocking heads together for the last time. He is ( and has been) having problems with his wrist. It appears he is due to see a surgeon shortly who will decide whether to remove/replace a bone in his wrist as he currently has restricted rotation of his hand and is unable to grip properly. No dirty thoughts please!

But seriously he's been a stalwart giving 100% on the pitch every time. For the past few seasons he has tried to stand down from 1st XV duties hoping good young props were ready to dabble in the Dark Arts of The Scrum. But he's usually been called back into service after desperate phone calls telling him he was NEEDED.

Thanks for the memories Mr Short.
