Folkestone v Fullerians

Big Match Latest

After a terrific performance last Tuesday against Canterbury Folkestone return home for their first home match of the season when they welcome Fullerians to the New Burlington for a friendly match. The match has been arranged by Ken Lennon, who, recently conquered Killimanjaro and before moving to Folkestone was a member of Fullerians.

Last season Fullerians finished second in London NW3 and earned promotion. They accept that they are probably the second best team in Watford which, of course, is home to Premiership Champions, Saracens.

Both sets of coaches are currently preparing for the new season, just a few weeks away and will use this match to have a look at how their players are coming along. Folkestone coaches, Darren Molloy, Steve Milward, Tom Johnson and Leigh Fitchie were happy men watching their boys work hard for a stirring win over Canterbury and will be looking for more of the same tomorrow.

Man of the match against Canterbury, Ollie Brooks, is again in the squad and home supporters know he will be looking for trouble all over the pitch. New signing Rob Hudson, despite being a ginger, played well in the Canterbury match and his workrate and skill will see him become a crowd favourite. David Baxter was unable to play earlier this week but is now fit to play. His last match saw him score all 5 tries in the final league match of last season at Cranbrook. Local supporters will be looking forward to watching the 3 big ball carriers, Baxter, Ben Flatman and Jack McMurray.
Both teams boast pacy exciting backs. Richard Lama, Adam Tolman & Drew Woolford missed the Canterbury match and, hopefully, they will be fit for tomorrow. Unfortunately, fly half Chris Petley is unable to play having been concussed in the Canterbury match and winger Ben Brooks is still out with a broken wrist.
Tomorrow's match sees the home debuts of Folkestone's Foreign Legion with Czechs, Jakub Kopfiva and Michal Krizanek and New Zealanders, Richard Puddy and Scotty Evans all included in the squad. They all played very well at Canterbury with Michal scoring the winning try which has been cheered back home in his home club, Tatra Smichov.
The match kicks off at 3pm. Entertainment is guaranteed. So set your videos and get along to the New Burlington for some real rugby.
