It is with regret that the Executive passes on the news of the recent passing away of Ted Sutton, they would like to pass the Club’s condolences to John Sutton and his mother Maureen.
Ted was our Honorary Treasurer in the mid 80’s. He was a diligent, hardworking, executive of the Club and ran a tight ship in regard to obeying the spirit and letter of the financial laws. He also persuaded his son John to become Chairman, again supporting the club with sound advice on how to run a successful Club. He often attended Club lunches and he always had time to talk to all members.

Ted's other love was the Aircrew Association and he was instrumental in establishing a happy relationship between that organisation and the Rugby Club whereby the Association's main social event - the Annual Christmas Lunch - was held at the club each year with not a few Club members attending as guests. Sadly, as age and death reduced their numbers, the Lunch was discontinued in the middle of the first decade of the 21st century but is fondly remembered and much missed by rugby members as well as the Association members.

Ted was a much loved character and hard working. He will be very missed by all those that knew him.

His Funeral will be at Barham Crematorium on Thursday 14th April at 2:00pm.
