Entertaining rugby is the keyword of Folkestone RFC and before this game they had run in more points this season than any other team apart from the strong Thanet set up. But their defence, so far, has been a little leaky.

An excellent day for a game of rugby with a bright blue sky but a strong wind to contend with. Folkestone fielded a strong side but allowed Dover to open the scoring with a penalty.

Both teams paid their respects with a minutes clapping to celebrate the life of the recently departed John Kidson who was a keen supporter of youth rugby at both clubs.

Due to the rare round yellow thing in the sky the spectators got their sun creams on and set in for what was a great game of rugby. Playing quarters to get water breaks in for the lads and the ref come to that matter.

“Did we win”? So asked an exhausted Folkestone player with sweat trickling down every crevice of his face after the final whistle had eventually been blown.

The afternoon started on a melancholy note as the Club members, the players and the spectators gave their heartfelt tribute to John Kidson in restrained applause.
